Padjelantaleden

The Padjelantaleden is a 140-kilometer (87-mile) long hiking trail in northern Sweden, located in the heart of Swedish Lapland. It runs through the Padjelanta National Park, one of the country’s largest and most remote wilderness areas. The trail connects the villages of Kvikkjokk and Stuor Muorkke, offering hikers an immersive experience in a pristine, untouched environment.

The trail is known for its stunning landscapes, featuring alpine plateaus, crystal-clear lakes, lush valleys, and towering mountains. It provides access to the unique culture of the indigenous Sámi people, with opportunities to see reindeer herding and traditional Sámi settlements.

The Padjelantaleden is considered moderate in difficulty, with well-marked paths and several huts along the route for accommodation. It’s best hiked in summer, from late June to early September, when the weather is most favorable. With its wild, remote beauty and rich cultural history, the Padjelantaleden offers a truly unique and peaceful hiking experience.
