This post was written in Danish in July 2017. It already carried an English version below the Danish one; the duplicate has been removed and the two merged into a single English post.
So now I have been contacted by my first sponsor – Fujifilm Nordic – kind of 🙂
Ib Thordal from Fujifilm Nordic reached out to me and asked whether I would be interested in borrowing a camera for my trip – free choice from their lineup.
Since my trusty Nikon D810 is too heavy to bring along, Ib’s offer is definitely a great opportunity to bring a good camera that will not weigh or take up too much in the backpack.
So right now I am leaning heavily toward the Fujifilm X100F.
Besides being practical in size and weight, it is also insanely beautiful! So I will look extra stylish at the same time as I run around taking photos – a total win-win, as they say.
The Fujifilm X100F is equipped with an APS-C sensor, the same size found in most DSLR cameras. It has 24 megapixels and comes with a lens equivalent to 35mm, which makes it the perfect all-around camera.
The camera has built-in WiFi too, so if I manage to take some… when I take some awesome photos, they can be posted in no time over on my Insta profile so you can see what is happening 🙂
I am aware that I have to compromise compared to my own camera, but bringing a big DSLR is simply not an option since it would weigh around 2 kg.
The Fujifilm X100F weighs 469 grams and delivers image quality high enough to keep me satisfied 😉 (yes, I am incredibly picky, and possibly a touch too much so)

There is still a long time to go, so plenty can happen on the camera front, but it is great to know I do not have to worry about the camera side any more.
A thousand thanks to Fujifilm Nordic and Ib Thordal!
Gear: the full setup I carried on the PCT is on the PCT 2018 gear list.
